3 Nights in Cape Town
Cape Town
Cape Town is a port city on South Africa's southwest coast, on a peninsula beneath the imposing Table Mountain. Affectionately known as The Mother City, it was established in 1652 as a refueling station for ships bound for the East (the Spice Route), and became the first city in South Africa. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful metropolises in the world. Nestled against the iconic Table Mountain and surrounded by beautiful beaches and the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town offers visitors a host of outdoor adventures and leisure activities. With a number of luxury hotels around the peninsula, it also makes for the perfect base from which to embark on tours of southern South Africa - either inland or along the south and west coasts.
Leeukoppie
At ROAR AFRICA, we pride ourselves on opening rare, insider-only access to the most extraordinary places and people on our home continent. South Africa’s Leeukoppie is the purest expression of what we do: a breathtaking 300-acre private estate owned today by Chantal and Brandon Kerzner, the children of the legendary, late Sol Kerzner, the visionary founder behind Sun City, One&Only and Atlantis. This slice of heaven, encompassing three exquisitely designed residences, tennis courts, stables, fynbos gardens, forests, and every luxury amenity one can imagine, covers a protected, biodiverse hillside in Hout Bay with ocean views. After the 2020 passing of their father, Chantal and her brother, Brandon, lovingly renovated and restored Leeukoppie, continuing Sol’s legacy of legendary hospitality in the hope that other families and friends would experience the happiness, secluded peace and togetherness they did growing up on the property. The fact that the estate is only fifteen minutes by car from the buzz of Camp’s Bay and Cape Town and an easy flight into the bush for safari is an added bonus.

Nyungwe Forest National Park lies in southwest Rwanda, partly abutting the Burundi border. It's a vast area of mountain rainforest, home to many primate species including chimpanzees, Owl-faced monkeys (also known as Hamlyn's monkeys) and Colobus monkeys. The Canopy Walkway, part of the Igishigishigi Trail, is a high suspension bridge with views over the valley and surrounding forests. A trail runs to the Kamiranzovu Marsh, with its bird life, orchids and waterfall. The rainforest is probably the most well preserved mountain rain forest in Central Africa. It is located in the watershed between the basin of the river Congo to the west and the basin of the river Nile to the east. One of the Nile sources comes from the east side of the forest.

It is an unforgettable experience.

Home to one of East Africa’s last intact chimpanzee populations, Nyungwe is an ideal place to observe chimps in their natural habitat. As they are most active in the morning, an early rise is required for maximum viewing opportunities, and a beautifully prepared breakfast will be enjoyed ‘on the go’. So, allow your experienced, expert trackers to guide you on a deep forest trail, learning about these fascinating creatures and the enchanting forest they call home. As this experience is authentically wild, chimpanzee viewing cannot be guaranteed. The experience involves off track hiking through terrain that is steep, slippery and muddy in places. Solid hiking shoes and moderate levels of physical fitness are recommended. You must be 15 years of age or over to take part.
