Heartfelt, authentic communication is both the joy and the challenge of our distracted era. I pour my heart, my soul and my lifetime of lived experience in Africa into these mailers. As the closest medium for me to speak directly with our cherished ROAR AFRICA guests and friends, these mailers share essential stories from the continent, exciting news directly from the field and new ROAR AFRICA journey announcements. They introduce you, our friends and readers, to the worlds of conservation, culture and women’s empowerment in an intimate, profoundly personal way. However, the written word only takes us so far. I’m always looking for new ways to connect, uplift and share stories from my homeland in a way that feels entirely natural and authentic.
Podcasts are a medium I find incredibly valuable, insightful and enjoyable to listen to and learn from on the go. While I’ve been invited to interview on many podcasts over the years, these last twelve months saw that particular mode of communication grow for me and for ROAR AFRICA. I’m thrilled to have been asked to share stories and experiences with such a wide range of exceptional personalities, some of whom I was lucky to encounter through friends like entrepreneur Bart Berkey and others who simply fell in love with ROAR AFRICA and all that we stand for. These conversations have been illuminating for me and the questions posed deeply thoughtful. More than anything else, speaking with a new host of characters from around the world about ROAR AFRICA and the path that led me to build all that we have today – thoughtfully and responsibly showcasing our home continent to discerning guests and living out our credo of “If African Women Rise, Wildlife Will Thrive” - brings me immense pride.
My team and I are deeply grateful to these podcast journalists and personalities. They are generously using their vast platforms as a force for good – sharing Africa through an expert lens, informed by lifetimes of lived experience and a deep love of the landscapes I call home. Wherever these last heady days of summer may take you, I hope these stories provide inspiration, information and solace that Africa’s precious, breathtakingly beautiful, wild spaces are waiting for you.

If Mother Nature’s sheer power and resilience could be exemplified in one place on the planet, it would be the dramatic, unimaginably vast landscapes of Namibia.
I love Kentridge’s monochromatic signature style and so I made it my mission to visit the Norval Foundation last year in August when it opened.
The Greatest Safari on Earth isn’t just about redefining ‘beyond first class’ travel, it’s about learning more about our world and how we show up in it. A kind of “haute voyage.” It’s about what truly matters. That undefinable feeling of intimacy and connection so central to our well-being and to the richness of our human experience. Isn’t that what we’re all searching for on this journey called life?
