It should have come as no surprise for Stanislaw Trzebinski that he became an artist, in fact some might say it was fated.

This week our spotlight is on the beautiful country of Rwanda.

One of the pleasures of working in this industry are the many relationships that we as a company have built up over the years, particularly with those hospitality partners who share our vision, values and the versatility that we offer our clients.

Flying from the mayhem of modern life to the endless horizons of Malilangwe Reserve in southeast Zimbabwe is a slow retreat into the senses. From the air, the landscape looks like a game of snakes and ladders with rich, red soil and burnished grasslands interspersed with seams of orange rock and crisscrossing dirt roads.

One of my favorite places on the planet is Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat.

It was Paracelsus, the 16th-century German-Swiss physician, who wrote: ‘The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician.’

Last month I was lucky enough to catch up with two visionary women that I have long admired – world-renowned photographers Angela Fisher and Carol Beckwith, at the launch of their spectacular new book, African Twilight: Vanishing Cultures and Ceremonies of the African Continent at THK Gallery in Cape Town.

Like a shell holds the sound of the sea inside it, the Seychelles is proxy for paradise preserved. For this place of virgin beaches (with blonde boulders that seem nonchalantly tossed into place), tropical rainforests and azure waters, is so otherworldly – it’s no wonder that early explorers thought they’d stumbled upon the original Eden.

First-time visitors to the reserve would be forgiven for thinking they’ve been delivered into a wildlife-rich reserve dating back eons. For not only are the sheer number of animals unparalleled, but sightings at the water hole located just a few feet beyond the main lodge are so prolific that Rodney and Nico have introduced a (tongue-in-cheek) experience called ‘the sofa safari’
